Provided are an oral composition for inhibiting elastase, a use of the oral composition, an elastase inhibitor, and a method for inhibiting the activity of elastase by the oral intake of an elastase inhibitor, for the purpose of recovering the decrease of elastin in a biological tissue which is caused by an external factor such as ultraviolet ray, active oxygen or the like, the deterioration in a metabolic function in a living body or the like and improving an aging condition in the skin or the like. The composition for inhibiting elastase is characterized by containing a processed product of a seed of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) or a specific compound derived from a seed of okra as an active ingredient.
