Study and Design of Specific Inhibitors to Elastase

摘要

At the beginning of this project, insufficient knowledge about the binding of benzoxazinone inhibitors to elastase was available. We therefore undertook the study of several crystal structures, using porcine pancreatic elastase (PPE) as the receptor protein. As the structure of human leucocyte elastase has just become available, we therefore are able to report initial binding studies with both elastases. This method promises to place QSAR studies on a firm footing by providing a geometric description of active site interactions. Keywords: reprints.
