According to the invention, the coating (20) comprises an alloy based on iron-aluminum or an intermetallic compound based on iron-aluminum and is arranged in such a way that, at least some sections of the coating adjoin a combustion chamber (40) of the piston machine (1) in the installed state of the piston (10). The invention further relates to a motor vehicle having a piston machine according to the invention.
