An iris recognition-based user identity determining method and a related apparatus, relating to the field of biological recognition. The method comprises: on the basis of the relationships between the differences between the feature parameters corresponding to a first iris image and the feature parameters corresponding to a second iris image and a preset threshold, determining whether the classification of the first iris image and the second iris image is a live iris (S130); if the classification of the first iris image and the second iris image is a live iris, obtaining the same iris feature parameter among the feature parameters corresponding to the first iris image and the feature parameters corresponding to the second iris image ( S140); and on the basis of the same iris feature parameter and a pre-stored iris database as well as a preset joint Bayesian model, determining the identity recognition result corresponding to a user (S150). The method improves the accuracy of user identity determination based on iris recognition.
