FIELD: optical methods.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of studying the physical characteristics of dispersed media using optical methods and can be used to diagnose fuel injectors. The claimed method includes the registration of images and the processing of data (images). Image registration is carried out by sequentially performing the following actions: spraying with a liquid nozzle with a phosphor added to it; illumination with a laser knife of the selected flow section; registration with a CCD camera installed at an angle to the measuring volume of images with a given exposure time; transfer of the received images over a local communication line for processing on a PC. Data processing is carried out by performing the following steps: geometric reconstruction of images using a calibration image of the target and a rear projection algorithm; identification of the center of the spray torch in the cross-section plane with a laser knife by approximating a circle in the measurement plane; image conversion to polar coordinates with the center of the coordinate system in the found center of the spray torch in the measurement plane and numerical integration of the image intensity by sectors with a given step; correction and normalization of the angular profile of the distribution of the liquid concentration in the spray torch in the measurement plane. ;EFFECT: creation of an easy-to-implement and highly accurate optical method for determining the circumferential profile of the relative concentration of the liquid phase in the spray torch using planar laser-induced fluorescence. ;4 cl, 8 dwg
