The present invention provides a multi-step method for selective, environmental and cost-effective recovery of non-ferrous metals from industrial wastewater.The method is based on the disproportionation of non-ferrous metals, the separation of complexes, and the subsequent permutation of non-ferrous metals.Siderophore is used as the complexing agent, which is recovered in this method.The method can be particularly used in the case of low iron metal concentrations.This is efficient, environmentally compatible, and cost effective.
