The present invention relates to an electromechanical motor vehicle wheel brake (EMB, 1) based on the friction brake principle, having a brake housing module (2) and an EMB servomotor module (MGU, 4) controlled electrically or electronically via a control unit (ECU, 3) with drive and the transmission drive train is assigned at least one actuating means (5) which, with a transmission means (6), is suitable and intended to act on at least one associated motor vehicle friction lining (7) for the purpose of releasable friction cooperation with a rotatably mounted brake rotor (8). Improvement In the known systems, the essence of the invention is seen in the fact that in the drive or transmission drive train of the motor vehicle wheel brake, an electrically or electronically switchable function switch module with two defined switch positions is assigned for the purpose of function switchover, the parking brake switch position and the service brake switch tposition are defined, and the EMB servomotor module integrates the function switchover module.
