The invention relates to a method for determining an adapted ophthalmic device for a wearer, comprising: - acquiring a set of parameters values relating to the wearer, - determining at least a task to be performed by the wearer involving visual exploration, - using a computing system, determining a value of a criterion assessing an efficiency of the wearer's visual exploration strategy for said task, and - determining an optical design of an ophthalmic device to be worn by a wearer according to the determined value of the criterion.
