PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement assist device that can be used more safely.SOLUTION: A device for assisting a user to move comprises: a determination unit 64 for determining whether the device's current position is in a use permission area or in a use inhibition area; and a movement assist control unit 68 for executing, depending on the device's current position, movement assist control of placing emphasis on staying in the use permission area or movement assist control of placing emphasis on entering the use permission area.
