Disclosed are a method for function encryption supporting an intersection operation and an apparatus using the same. A method according to an embodiment comprises: generating a user secret key for each of a plurality of users based on a master key; and, based on a first user secret key for a first user among the plurality of users, a second user secret key for a second user among the plurality of users, and time information, the first user secret key and the time information and generating a function key for generating an intersection of the encrypted first data set, the second user secret key, and the encrypted second data set using the time information.
