Composite brazing liner for low temperature brazing and high strength materials

Apparatus, materials and methods for forming brazing sheets comprise a composite brazing liner layer of low melting point aluminum alloy and a 4000 series brazing liner.The low melting layer of the composite brazing liner facilitates low temperature brazing and reduces the diffusion of magnesium from the core to the composite brazing liner.The decrease in magnesium diffusion also reduces the formation of related magnesium oxide at the brazed junction interface resistant to removal by nokk flux Thus, the use of low temperature controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB) and nokk flux facilitates formation of a good brazing joint.The apparatus also allows the manufacture of brazed sheet materials with high strength and good corrosion characteristics.
