The present invention relates to a Mn activating light emitting material, a method of preparing the same, and its use as an emissive or converted light emitting element in a light source.The present invention further relates to a radiation conversion mixture comprising a light emitting material of the present invention and a light source comprising a light emitting material or a radiation conversion mixture of the present invention.The present invention further provides an illumination facility including a light source, particularly an LED, and a primary light source and a light emitting material or radiation conversion mixture of the present invention.The Mn activated light emitting material of the present invention is particularly suitable for generating warm white light in an LED.
