The present invention relates to the technical field of linear induction motor control, and disclosed is a multi-step finite set model prediction control method for a linear induction motor. The method specifically comprises: collecting primary phase current of the linear induction motor under a three-phase coordinate system; iteratively solving a multi-step reference voltage vector sequence according to a current value; in each prediction step length, reserving only two non-zero voltage vectors closest to a reference voltage vector and one zero voltage vector; and finally, upon a comparison with a cost function value in an online dynamic manner, further excluding a voltage vector sequence having a larger cost function value. According to the present invention, the multi-step finite set model prediction control method is applied to the linear induction motor, improving the operation performance of the linear induction motor, especially in low switching frequency application occasions. Moreover, the control method is simplified, and the hardware cost required for executing the method is reduced, so that the method can be applied to an actual system.
