Systems and methods for remotely monitoring blood flow, including endovascular prostheses. The endovascular prosthesis includes a conduit that forms a lumen within a surrounding wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. The monitoring device is placed on the wall forming the lumen. The monitoring device includes a sensor element configured to detect a physical event and cause a change in an electrical parameter in response to the physical event. The antenna unit is configured to receive the first oscillating electric signal from the interrogator device and to transmit the second oscillating electric signal to the interrogator device. The second oscillating electrical signal is modulated by a change in electrical parameters.
