SYSTEMS METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING PROVISIONING OF NOTIFICATIONS BASED ON SOURCES OF THE NOTIFICATIONS

Methods, devices, systems and computer readable media are provided for minimizing distraction caused by notifications. Notifications may be restricted by scoring the notification source according to activity associated with the recipient, previous interactions between the user and the source, and/or other data that may be relevant to the notification. For example, a driving user may limit the sources from which notifications may be received, so long as the score for a particular source does not satisfy a driving notification threshold. Otherwise, if the score does not meet the notification threshold, the user may be presented with a notification at another time or via a less distracting form than a typical form for presenting the notification. If a user indicates a preference for receiving notifications from particular sources, the scores for those sources may be dynamically adapted to the user's prior decisions about the particular sources and/or notifications.
