The present invention provides a method of treating an ophthalmic disease in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an extract of Taiwanese propolis (TP) or an active ingredient thereof. Also provided is a pharmaceutical composition for treating an ophthalmic disease comprising an effective amount of an extract of TP or an active ingredient thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
