The present invention provides a method of treating an ophthalmic disease in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of an extract of Taiwanese propolis (TP) or an active ingredient thereof. In addition, there is provided a pharmaceutical composition for treating ophthalmic diseases comprising an effective amount of an extract of TP or an active ingredient thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
