The present invention relates to an ash treatment system and method for separating coal ash into slurry ash and pyrite so that pyrite can be discharged by bypassing a slurry pump through a pyrite bypass line. a slurry tank for storing a slurry made of atomized ash among them; a first slurry transfer line connected from the slurry tank to a front portion of the slurry pump; a second slurry transfer line connected from the rear portion of the slurry pump to the outside; a pyrite tank for storing pyrite in the form of a lump that may adversely affect the slurry pump among the coal ash; a pyrite bypass line connected to the second slurry transfer line so that the pyrite stored in the pyrite tank can be transferred to the outside by bypassing the slurry pump; a pressure induction line installed in the second slurry transfer line to forcibly discharge the pyrite to the outside by using the slurry discharge pressure by the slurry pump; and a pressure induction valve installed in the pressure induction line to open the pressure induction line in the pyrite discharge mode.
