The solid food is formed such that the average value A of the packing ratio of the solid food from the surface thereof to a depth of 2 mm is greater than the average value C of the packing ratio of the solid food from a depth of 4 mm from the surface thereof to a depth of 6 mm and such that rate of increase (A-C)/C×100 in the packing ratio as found by dividing the difference (A-C) between average value A and average value C by average value C is no greater than 6.5%.
