Disclosed are an authority management method and an apparatus. The method includes: identifying a target type to which a first resource belongs; determining an authority inheritance rule corresponding to the target type; acquiring at least one associated node corresponding to the first resource in a first hierarchical network corresponding to the first resource; acquiring authority information of the at least one associated node; and updating authority information of the first resource according to the authority inheritance rule based on the authority information of the at least one associated node. The technical solutions according to the embodiments of the present disclosure solve a problem that authority management is incapable of being performed for an added resource due to authority management performed in a predefined way in the related art, and realize automatic authority for the added resource.
