The invention relates to sorting equipment (1) for packages (2) comprising a sorting conveyor (3), sorting outlets (4) distributed along said conveyor and a control unit (7) able to control the conveyor to sort the packages in the outlets according to their destination address. Each outlet is arranged to store a plurality of receptacles (6) each associated with a parcel destination address in the unit's memory. The equipment comprising at each outlet a device (8) for switching the receptacles. The unit controls the permutation device to immobilize a receptacle, whose associated parcel destination address in the memory of the control unit corresponds to the destination address of a current parcel to be sorted, in a position filling in which the receptacle is positioned under the sorting outlet to receive a package.
