The invention concerns a laser air welding process which involves the application of an additive (1) from a nozzle (2) to at least one surface (3) of a substrate (4) and/or a workpiece and which has at least partial melting of the additive (1) with a laser beam (5), that the additive (1) as granulate (7) comes out of the nozzle (2) which has at least a proportional, preferably at least fifty per cent, grain of at least fifty millimetres.
