A device to facilitate matrix processing has been revealed. The device includes a matrix accelerator to receive input matrix data, to transform input matrix data into a multitude of sub-blocks, to examine a first block of sub-blocks to determine whether the first block contains sparse data, to select a first tile size when determined, that the first block contains sparse data and output matrix data based on the first tile size.
