To provide a physical property evaluation method capable of easily and inexpensively evaluating an internal friction angle of steel slag having a grain size suitable for harbor construction, and a sorting method capable of easily and inexpensively sorting steel slag having a desired internal friction angle from steel slag having a grain size suitable for harbor construction.SOLUTION: For steel slag having an evenness coefficient of 1.4 to 2.2, a grain crushing rate is determined by a maximum density test of gravel specified in JGS 0162-2009, and an internal friction angle of the steel slag is evaluated based on the grain crushing rate. Further, steel slag having the particle crushing rate of 7.2% or less is selected as steel slag satisfying the internal friction angle of 35° or more. Since the grain crushing rate by the maximum density test is used, the evaluation of the internal friction angle of the steel slag and the sorting based thereon can be performed easily and at low cost.SELECTED DRAWING: None
