Disclosed are Millettia speciosa polysaccharides, a preparation method therefor and an application thereof in antibacterial aspects. The method comprises the following steps: (1) cleaning, slicing, drying, smashing and sieving Millettia speciosa root pieces, and then performing hot water reflux extraction to obtain a crude extract of Millettia speciosa polysaccharides; (2) depigmenting the crude extract of the Millettia speciosa polysaccharides by using macroporous resin, removing residual protein by using a Sevag reagent, and then performing alcohol precipitation to obtain crude Millettia speciosa polysaccharides; (3) adding the crude Millettia speciosa polysaccharides to water to prepare a crude Millettia speciosa polysaccharide solution, and then adding same to a DEAE-52 cellulose anion exchange column, eluting by using distilled water and 0.2 mol/L of a NaCl solution successively, and collecting eluates separately to obtain Millettia speciosa polysaccharides MSCP1 and MSCP2. The Millettia speciosa polysaccharides prepared in the present invention have a certain inhibitory effect on Gram-negative bacteria, especially Escherichia coli and Salmonella. Therefore, the Millettia speciosa polysaccharides can be used to develop antibacterial materials or antibacterial agents.
