The invention relates to the use of Ca₅(PO₄)₃(OH) (hydroxylapatite; HAP) and a Ca₅(PO₄)₃(OH)-containing dental care composition for deep-layer remineralization of demineralized teeth, in particular for deep-layer remineralization of demineralized dental enamel. The Ca₅(PO₄)₃(OH) used according to the invention and the dental care composition used according to the invention can be applied in the treatment and/or prevention of various dental diseases, in particular caries.
