The present invention is a compound of formula I for use in treating pulmonary arterial hypertension and associated conditions, wherein R ₁ , R ₂ and R ₃ are the same or different and are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkylaryl, alkyloxy, hydroxy , represents a nitro, amino, alkylcarbonylamino, alkylamino or dialkylamino group; R ₄ represents hydrogen, alkyl, -alkylaryl or -alkylheteroaryl; X represents CH ₂ , an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; n is 1, 2 or 3, and when n is 1, X is _{not CH 2 A} compound that satisfies the condition; and to individual (R)- and (S)-enantiomers or mixtures of enantiomers thereof and to pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
