The method for production of carbon fiber or set of fibers includes combining a structured precursor containing a fiber or set of hydrocellulose fibers and an unstructured precursor containing lignin or derivative thereof in form of a solution with viscosity of less than 15000 mPa/s to produce a fiber or set of hydrocellulose fibers covered with lignin or a derivative thereof.
