The present invention relates to a metal negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery containing mesoporous carbon and a method for manufacturing the same. By including mesoporous carbon having a pore size of 2 to 50 nm, the formation of lithium dendrites is effectively suppressed using a large surface area. And, it is possible to improve the electrochemical characteristics such as life characteristics.
