A dock guard features a track along which is moveable, a lock which can be placed across a portion of the dock. In the figure, the lock is the horizontal bar just in front of the rear left wheels. In significant embodiments, electronic control systems can control the deployment of the lock, along with cameras, and signalling devices. Also disclosed is an associated docking station, distribution centre and method of usage. In this a vehicle or trailer (fig.1A) can be locked to the dock, or the lock can be deployed to stop an unauthorised vehicle from entering the dock.
