A gradient-type graphene smart-concrete-based corrosion detection apparatus and method. A aggregate-shaped and gradient-type smart-concrete-based corrosion detection apparatus made by graphene has the features of small volume, good compatibility with concrete, and high sensitivity. The manufacturing method for said apparatus comprises: first dissolving graphene in water under the action of a surfactant, then formulating a graphene-based smart mortar according to a certain formulation ratio, and pouring same by layers according to gradients to form an aggregate-type concrete corrosion detection apparatus, wherein electrodes, which may be mesh-shaped, rod-shaped or point-shaped electrodes need to be placed first, and then calibration is performed after the smart mortar is solidified and maintained for 28 days. Said apparatus is placed into concrete of a building structure, the electrodes are led out by means of a wire, and the change of the resistance between the electrodes is measured to represent the corrosion degree and health state of the concrete at that site.
