Particularly disclosed are methods and composition for treating cancers such as glioblastoma by administering a therapeutic agent that alters the pathways used for purine biosynthesis by inhibiting the biological activity of ARL13B and/or IMPDH proteins in conjunction with additional therapeutic agents such as alkylating agents.
