Provided are a positive electrode lithium supplement material, a positive electrode comprising a positive electrode lithium supplement material, and a method for preparation thereof. the positive electrode lithium supplement material comprises at least one of Li ₂M1O ₂, Li ₂M2O ₃, Li ₅Fe _xM3 _1-xO ₄, and Li ₆Mn _yM4 _1-yO ₄; M1 contains at least one of Ni, Mn, Cu, Fe, Cr, and Mo; M2 contains at least one of Ni, Mn, Fe, Mo, Zr, Si, Cu, Cr, and Ru; M3 contains at least one of Al, Nb, Co, Mn, Ni, Mo, Ru, and Cr; M4 contains at least one of Ni, Fe, Cu, and Ru; 0≤x≤1 and 0≤y≤1. A positive electrode comprising the positive electrode lithium supplement material and a preparation method thereof are provided, and can effectively increase the energy density of a lithium-ion battery and significantly improve the nail penetration safety of the lithium-ion battery.
