An AC-DC power converter (10) is described herein comprising a bridge circuit comprising a first phase leg (20a) comprising first and second power switches (50) connected to each other in series, a second phase leg (20b) comprising third and fourth power switches (50) connected to each other in series, wherein the first phase leg (20a) and the second phase leg are connected to the each other via a bridging connection (28) to form the bridge circuit; said convertor further comprising means (40) for providing power to said bridge circuit, and means (60) for measuring an output voltage of said bridge circuit. A method for monitoring the health of such an AC-DC converter (10) is also described herein.
