To provide an FAD dependent formic acid oxidase variant which is modified such that formic acid dehydrogenase activity is imparted, a nucleic acid molecule coding a variant, an enzyme electrode using a variant as an electrode catalyst, a bio battery and a biosensor.SOLUTION: An FAD dependent formic acid oxidase variant, a nucleic acid molecule coding a variant, an enzyme electrode utilizing a variant, a bio battery, and a biosensor have an amino acid sequence having at least one of substitution selected from substitution of amino acid residue arginine at a position corresponding to position 60 of specific amino acid sequence to alanine, substitution of amino acid residue asparagine at a position corresponding to position 61 to alanine or glycine, substitution of amino acid residue tyrosine at a position corresponding to position 99 to alanine or glycine, in an amino acid sequence of wild-type flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) dependent formic acid oxidase, and have formic acid dehydrogenase activity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
