PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for fixing carbon dioxide. The method for fixing carbon dioxide of the present invention includes a contact step and an electrolysis step, and the contact step includes sodium hydroxide, a chloride of a Group 2 element, and a divalent metal. A mixed solution containing at least one of the element chlorides is brought into contact with a gas containing carbon dioxide, and the concentration of the sodium hydroxide in the mixed solution is 0.2 N or less, and the electrolysis step is the contact. The subsequent mixed solution is electrolyzed to obtain a post-electrolyzed mixed solution, and in the contacting step, the post-electrolyzed mixed solution is reused as the mixed solution, and in the contacting step, the mixed solution is used.
