In some aspects, the present invention relates to a composition comprising bone marrow infiltrating lymphocytes (“MIL”). The MIL may be an activated MIL. In some aspects, the invention relates to a method for activating MIL comprising incubating MIL in an environment comprising less than 21% oxygen. In some aspects, the present invention relates to a method for treating cancer in a subject comprising administering to the subject a composition comprising activated MIL.
