By (i) receiving the first command to capture the first image of the surface of the product and (ii) activating multiple rotary joints, the camera is positioned in the first position approximately adjacent to the surface of the product. Moreover, it is a quality inspection improvement method including capturing the first image of the surface of the product. The method involves capturing the first image and then processing the first image to (i) identify defects in the first image and relative positions of the defects in the first image, and (ii) a camera. The camera is moved from the first position to the second position by determining the second position of the camera by the first position of the defect and the relative position in the first image of the defect, and (iii) activating a plurality of rotary joints. It further includes positioning again. The method further comprises capturing a second image.
