A planetary roller mill for processing feed material comprises a container having a grinding ring having a first region and an opening therethrough. The grinding ring is in sealing engagement with the inner surface of the container assembly. At least two non-circular support plates are fixed to the rotatable shaft. Each plate has an axially oriented surface. A plurality of rollers are rotatably mounted on two support plates and positioned between them. Each of the plurality of rollers communicates with the grinding surface while grinding. The planetary roller mill includes an air supply system having an outlet in communication with an opening in the grinding ring. The regions of the two support plates have sizes that make up the flow region through an opening of at least 30 percent of the first region to provide a predetermined amount of heated air to remove moisture from the feed material in the grinding assembly.
