The planetary roller mill for processing the feed material includes a vessel having a grinding ring having a through opening and a first region. The grinding ring is sealingly engaged with the interior surface of the container assembly. At least two non-circular support plates are secured to the rotatable shaft. Each plate has an axially oriented surface. The plurality of rollers are rotatably mounted on and positioned between the two support plates. Each of the plurality of rollers grinds and communicates with the grinding surface. The planetary roller mill includes an air supply system having an outlet in communication with the opening of the grinding ring. The areas of the two support plates have dimensions that constitute the flow area through at least thirty percent of the openings in the first region to provide a predetermined amount of heated air to remove moisture from the feed material in the grinding assembly.
