A method of preparing a graphene-enhanced polymer composite is disclosed. The method comprises dispersing graphite micro-powder on the molten thermoplastic polymer; By continuously applying a shear strain event on the molten polymer, the molten polymer phase continuously peels the graphite for each of the above events, so that at least 50% of the graphite is peeled off. and forming a single-layered or multi-layered graphene nanoparticle having a thickness of 50 nanometers or less in a c-axis direction dispersed on the molten polymer.
