Disclosed is a silver nanocrystalline/semiconductor quantum dot composite nanomaterial, comprising a silver nanocrystalline and a CdS quantum dot. The silver nanocrystalline and the CdS quantum dot are bound by means of electrostatic interaction. The composite nanomaterial is uniform in particle morphology, good in dispersity and high in luminous efficiency. Also disclosed is a method for preparing a silver nanocrystalline/semiconductor quantum dot composite nanomaterial. The method can be carried out at normal pressure and temperature and is simple and feasible, and the cost is low, and thus it is suitable for wide use.
