The essence of the invention consists in that a method for testing personal respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is used when testing in environments that are dangerous to life and health in order to determine the mode of operation and the effective protective time of RPE, and comprises the steps of: obtaining and continuously recording a test person's biometric data and respiratory parameters while said test person is subjected to a given set of loads or tasks in an apparatus that simulates respiratory conditions in RPE, which records the test person's biometric data; collecting and saving the obtained data in a database of a hardware and software system; and testing RPE in a device that simulates human external respiration using the data received. The technical result is a more accurate assessment of the effective protective time of breathing apparatus under conditions as close as possible to real life.
