Problem to be solved: to provide a process for preparing 3,5-dihydroxy-4-isopropyl-trans stilbene or its salt or solvate and a new intermediate used therein.In some embodiments, 3,5-dihydroxy-4-isopropyl-trans stilbene is prepared from (E) - 2-chloro-2-isopropyl-5-styrylcyclohexane-1,3-dione.The crystal morphology of 3,5-dihydroxy-4-isopropyl-trans stilbene or its salt or solvate and pharmaceutical composition comprising it are also disclosed.Diagram
