The invention concerns a procedure for providing a driving strategy (20) for the automated driving of a vehicle (50),where the process is carried out using a data processing facility (2), where a General Purpose Planner (5) produces and provides for a set (P) of planning strategies for each planning cycle on the basis of an environmental model and a reward function defined over reward weights (i); and selects and provides the driving strategy (20) from the quantity (P) of planning strategies (p), estimating the reward weights (i) of the reward function (R) by means of a neural network (7) on the basis of the quantity (P) of planning strategies (p);and using the estimated reward weights (i) for a subsequent planning cycle by the General Purpose Planner (5). The invention also concerns a device (1) to provide a driving strategy (20) for the automated driving of a vehicle (50).
