The present disclosure relates to a hearing aid system (1) comprising a hearing aid (2) configured to compensate for a hearing loss of a user wearing the hearing aid (2) and a portable auxiliary device (3) configured to be in communicatively contact (4) with the hearing aid (2) and to receive and transmit signals from and to the hearing aid (2) to evaluate a cognitive load experienced by the user during the day.
