PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentration system and a concentration method capable concentrating a target liquid of high concentration that is prone to fouling by using membrane separation.SOLUTION: There is provided a concentration system for concentrating a target liquid containing water and components other than water, including: a treatment tank for containing the target liquid; an immersion type regular osmosis module immersed in the target liquid in the treatment tank; and a membrane separation module. The immersion type regular osmosis module has a semi-permeable membrane, with one surface thereof in contact with the target liquid, and the other side thereof in contact with a draw solution containing a draw solute, and the membrane separation module has a separation film, and a first chamber and a second chamber partitioned by the separation film. The concentration system is configured so that a part of the draw solution is flowed into the first chamber and another part of the draw solution is flowed into the second chamber, to pressurize the draw solution in the first chamber, to thereby transfer water contained in the draw solution in the first chamber to the draw solution in the second chamber through the separation membrane, so that a concentrated draw solution is discharged from the first chamber, and a diluted draw solution is discharged from the second chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
