A high-voltage protection system for an internal combustion locomotive. The system comprises a control unit, a bus voltage detection circuit, a triple discharge loop, and a cabinet door state detection circuit, wherein the triple discharge loop also comprises a chopper discharge loop, a slow discharge loop and a manual discharge loop; and all the circuits are integrated in a traction-auxiliary converter. The high-voltage protection system for an internal combustion locomotive can realize comprehensive protection functions, such as high-voltage electric appliance cabinet power-on warning, automatic shutdown once a door is opened, and automatic discharge in the case of shutdown, effectively reduces the possibility of high-voltage injury accidents, and safeguards personal and property safety to the maximum extent.
