APPLICATION OF HONOKIOL AND MAGNOLOL IN PREPARING MCR-1 ENZYME INHIBITOR

An application of honokiol and magnolol in preparing MCR-1 enzyme inhibitor. Moreover, by means of measurement of the minimal inhibitory concentration using a checkerboard method, an inhibition zone test, and a time-sterilization curve test, it is verified that honokiol and magnolol can inhibit the activity of an MCR-1 enzyme and restore the antibacterial activity of polymyxin B against MCR-1 positive enterobacteria (mainly comprising Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae). Furthermore, by establishing a mouse thigh muscle infection model, it is proved that using honokiol and magnolol in combination with polymyxin B has a good therapeutic effect on infection caused by MCR-1 positive enterobacteria. Therefore, honokiol and magnolol, as MCR-1 inhibitors, can be used in combination with an antibiotic, which increases selectivity of drugs used for a super drug-resistant bacteria, and is of great significance for developing a new drug against MCR-1 positive enterobacteria infection.
