A process for the production of a sealable biaxial-oriented polyester-based film, as well as a film rack, is described, in which the film is stretched in a first direction and in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, or is stretchable. To this end, a base layer and an intermediate layer are co-extruded and combined,where a hot sealable coating layer 2.3 attaches to the substrate by means of melting coatings. The coating layer acts at such a temperature above the melting point or the alternation point of the intermediate coating with respect to a contact point on the substrate,the temperature of the base layer of the substrate is below its crystallisation temperature and heat is supplied from the coating layer 2.3 to the intermediate layer to reduce its viscosity to the melting adhesion with the coating layer 2.3. Finally, after heating the substrate coated with the coating layer 2.3, a cross-section follows from a temperature level corresponding to a temperature supply over time regulated.
